Age Concern – the site for the organization Age Concern, the leading charitable organization in the UK concerned with aging and older people. Among other activities, they coordinate initiatives that encourage interaction between the young and old in order to break down stereotypes.

Age Exchange
– internationally known for work in all areas of reminiscence, including theatre, publishing, exhibitions, cross-generational projects and training workshops.

Age Concern New Zealand
– a not-for-profit organization in New Zealand, dedicated to promoting the quality of life and well-being of older people, advocating a message of positive, healthy aging for people of all ages.

AgeNet
– an information and referral network in the USA, designed to bridge the distance between aging parents and adult children by providing actionable information about products and services that are important to enhancing the quality of life of older adults and their families.

Alliance for Retired Americans – a national organization that works to create an America that protects the health and economic security of seniors, rewards work, strengthens families, and builds thriving communities. It is a voice for retirees and older Americans in national, state, and local policymaking.

Australian Coalition ’99 – towards a society for all ages. Site that supports the work of the 1999 International Year of Older Persons in Australia. Also can be reached through the Council on the Aging.

British Columbia Council for Families – site for the nonprofit, non-government organization in Canada. Mission is to strengthen, encourage and support families through information, education, research, and advocacy. Have a Guide to Intentional Intergenerational Programs online (see "Intergenerational Initiatives" on their homepage).

Center for Intergenerational Learning – at Temple University. Fosters intergenerational cooperation and exchange through the development of cross-age programs training and technical assistance and dissemination of materials on a national level in the USA.

The Concord Coalition – the web site for this USA nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to eliminating federal budget deficits while ensuring Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are secure for all generations.

Elderhostel – web site for the not-for-profit organization that is the world's largest educational and travel organization for older adults. Look for the Intergenerational Programs link on the homepage.

Familyhostel – offers international educational and cultural programs for those over 50 who want to combine travel and education while traveling with younger people.

FinalPlanner.com – offers"My Final Planner Workbook" as a guide for your loved ones to follow, with your instructions about your decisions on how to handle your final wishes, last wishes and final exit.

Foundation for Grandparenting – a national not-for-profit corporation dedicated to raising grandparent consciousness and grandparent identity. Based in Ojai, California.

The Friends of Seniors Foundation (FSF) – founded in 1994, as a non-profit community service based charity built on the belief that all of society benefits when caring partnerships are developed between teens and seniors. FSF is dedicated to developing volunteerism in our youth and improving the lives of seniors in care centers through intergenerational visiting programs.

Bruderhof Generation Connection – To build stronger, healthier and happier communities, this website shares stories, experiences and suggestions for action, and connects old people with young people through intergenerational interaction.

Generations Together
– University of Pittsburgh, intergenerational studies program.

Generations United – a national coalition dedicated to intergenerational policy, programs and issues. Based in Washington, DC.

Global Action on Aging – an international organization that works to ensure a good life for older persons worldwide. It reports on older people’s needs and potential and it brings together people of all generations to advocate.

Grandkidsandme – specializes in improving communication between grandparents and grandchildren through grandparent groups and grandparent camps.

Gray Panthers
– an international intergenerational advocacy organization of activists, age 9 to 93, working together for social and economic justice. “Age and Youth in Action.”

Illinois Intergenerational Initiative – to strengthen the intergenerational infrastructure in Illinois.

Intergeneration Day – founded by Intergenerational Foundation in Colorado, Intergeneration Day is celebrated the first Sunday of October and culminates their Intergenerational Activities Week. Its mission is to encourage individuals, families, businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, service groups and government leaders nationwide to initiate and sponsor intergeneration activities.

Intergenerational Innovations
– a nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington, that develops and implements creative programs and activities connecting children, youth, and elders in volunteer service to each other and to the community. They also work with other organizations to help them develop intergenerational programs.

Joni's Connections - Connections Unlimited – based in Denver, Colorado, Joni connects seniors and their caregivers with people who can best help them with their specific needs. Joni is also trained as an Intergenerational Dialogue facilitator.

National Academy for Teaching and Learning about Aging – at the University of North Texas. Promotes education about aging-related issues in teacher preparation universities and K-12 schools.

National Council on Family Relations – this NCFR web site provides a forum for family researchers, educators, and practitioners to share in the development and dissemination of knowledge about families and family relationships, establishes professional standards, and works to promote family well-being in the USA.

National Forum on Generational Issues – a site from the University of Montreal, Canada. Provides information on intergenerational relations in Canada.

New Jersey Intergenerational Networkintergenerational network for the State of New Jersey.

Rainbow Bridge
– a non-profit organization focusing on initiating and cultivating ongoing relationships between nursing home elders and youth, families, individuals and community organizations in the USA.

StAGEbridge – the USA’s oldest senior theatre company, based in Oakland, California. Uses theatre and storytelling to bridge the generation gap and to stimulate positive attitudes toward aging. Intergenerational programs feature senior theater productions, storytelling in the schools, acting classes for seniors, and writing contests for children.

The Third Millennium – a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization begun by young adults to offer solutions to long-term problems facing the USA.

United Generations
An association in Ontario, Canada, dedicated to cooperation among people of all ages and to supporting programs that benefit youths and seniors.

Volunteer Grandparents Society of Canada – a nonprofit organization in Canada, matching mature and senior adults with families whose children have no grandparents living nearby.

Walk in My Shoes – a 4-H Club Aging Awareness Project from the University of Illinois, teaches young people about growing older and the physical changes that occur with age.

Home Front Magazine
– based in Tampa, Florida, Home Front Magazine is a free online periodical that is published bi-monthly. It contains a positive message of healthy aging to seniors and caregivers all over the world. The March/April 2001 issue has an article about "The New Face of Retirement" and speaks of the ReFirement movement.

National Council on Aging – a council of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, and well being of older persons in the USA.

National Institute on Aging
– one of the 25 institutes and centers of the National Institutes of Health in the USA. Leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life.

REACH – a charity organization in the UK that finds voluntary work for experienced managers and professionals.

The Red Hat Society – Welcome to the place where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. The Red Hat Society believes silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Seniors On-Line – a commercial site for Canadian seniors, addressing issues of concern and interest to all Canadians in general, but to the older segment of the population in particular.

– based in the USA, has a listing of international information and links about issues for seniors on their Organizations page.

Seniorsurvey.com – an international online opinion center for seniors.

Suite101.com – a commercial site in the USA, with a section under the topic “Culture/People” containing links, articles and other stuff just for baby boomers.

Third Age – a commercial site in the USA, for the third age of life.

2young2retire – a site with a fresh perspective on post-career life and tools to help you think about the choices ahead. Has real-life stories, contests, links, and a newsletter on retirement alternatives.

Wired Seniors – a non-profit national job bank referral service and resource site. "Whatever you need done around your home or office, there is a senior citizen living nearby with the skills, knowledge, and the time necessary to do the job."

Elder Eye Resources with Web Site Links
American Foundation for the Blind – nonprofit organization that is a national resource in the USA for people who are blind or visually impaired. Develops, collects, and disseminates information; identifies, analyzes, critical issues; educates the public and policymakers as to the needs and capabilities of people who are blind or visually impaired; and produces and distributes talking books and other audio materials. Has regional offices across the USA.

The Center for Universal Design – a national research, information and technical assistance center based at North Carolina State University, that evaluates, develops and promotes universal design in housing, public and commercial facilities and related products.

Designage
– a site for the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre, a user-focused center in the UK, for design research and development which responds to social change.

Lighthouse – a not-for-profit organization that is a leading worldwide resource on vision impairment and vision rehabilitation. Conducts work in vision rehabilitation services, education, research and advocacy. Also has an online catalogue of vision products.

National Eye Institute
As one of the Federal government's National Institutes of Health (NIH), the NEI conducts and supports research that helps prevent and treat eye diseases and other disorders of vision. This research leads to sight-saving treatments, reduces visual impairment and blindness, and improves the quality of life for people of all ages. NEI-supported research has advanced our knowledge of how the visual system functions in health and disease.

Royal National Institute for the Blind – an organization based in the UK, to help blind and partially sighted people in the UK. Site includes links and other information on vision impairment.

Trace Center – at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, their mission is to prevent the barriers and capitalize on the opportunities presented by current and emerging information and telecommunication technologies, in order to create a world that is as accessible and usable as possible for as many people as possible.

Universal Design – a site based in Maryland (consisting of a newsletter, products, services) addressing accessibility concerns.
